What Quizzes Do

The Quiz Builder creates interactive, scored quizzes that collect lead data while delivering a personalized result, a product recommendation, a knowledge score, or a segmentation outcome, based on how someone answers. Unlike a standard form, quizzes are adaptive and engaging by design, which consistently drives higher completion rates than a flat data-capture form, since the person taking it gets something back (a result, a score, a recommendation) in exchange for their answers.

Common uses:

Lead nurturing — personalize follow-up and segment audiences based on quiz outcome

Product/course recommendations — suggest the right offer based on someone's answers

Knowledge assessments — test and reinforce learning inside a course or membership

Event engagement — interactive audience engagement at live events

Certification/compliance — validate skills and issue completion based on performance

Building a Standalone Marketing Quiz

Go to Sites → Quizzes → Builder.

Click + Add Quiz, then choose either Start From Scratch or Start From Templates (browse, filter, and preview a template before loading it in).

Use the left sidebar to drag question types onto each slide/page. Quizzes can span multiple pages rather than a single long list of questions.

For each question, assign a category and score where relevant, this is what determines the final result or outcome a person lands on.

Add personal information fields (name, email, phone) at the point where a lead should be captured, typically right before showing the result, so the person is invested in finishing before being asked for contact details.

Use the Quiz Result Builder to design a custom results page: personalized messaging, images, links, or a call-to-action based on the specific outcome reached.

Preview the full flow to check pacing and logic before publishing.

Publish using an embed code or a direct share link, or add it as a step inside a funnel or website.

Bulk-loading questions: For quizzes with a large question set, questions can be uploaded in bulk via CSV directly inside the builder rather than added one at a time, useful for course creators managing extensive question banks.

Branching logic: Choice-based questions support "Jump To" logic, so a specific answer can route someone to a different question path rather than every quiz-taker following the exact same sequence.

Connecting to Automation

Map quiz outcomes (score, tier, category) into CRM custom fields, so the result isn't just shown to the person taking it, it's also stored and usable for segmentation later.

Build a workflow that triggers immediately on quiz submission, common actions include sending a personalized follow-up email, applying a tag based on the outcome, or booking an appointment automatically for a high-intent result.

Configure Notifications within the builder for internal alerts (letting the team know a quiz was completed) and any auto-responder email sent directly to the person who took it.

This is what turns quiz results from a one-time interaction into an ongoing part of the CRM, someone who scores as "high intent" can be routed differently than someone who scores as "just researching."

Quizzes Inside Membership Courses (Assessments)

For testing knowledge rather than generating leads, the same builder underlies course assessments.

Go to Memberships, then under the Courses dropdown, select Products.

Choose the course product to add an assessment to.

Name the assessment.

Optionally set a passing grade and write the confirmation message learners see upon passing.

Add questions, choosing Single Choice or Multiple Choice, write the question text, enter the answer choices, and mark the correct option(s).

Repeat for all questions, then save.

Learners see their score immediately upon completion, including which answers were correct or incorrect. Course owners can view every learner's submissions, scores, and completion timestamps from the analytics view.

Notes for Client-Facing Use

Recommend quizzes over a plain form whenever the goal is product/service matching or lead qualification with a personalized payoff, the completion rate difference is usually significant.

Always map the quiz outcome into a CRM custom field, a quiz that shows a nice result page but doesn't store that outcome for segmentation is leaving most of its value on the table.

For course-based assessments, set a passing grade deliberately rather than leaving it at a default, this is often the difference between a meaningful certification and a checkbox exercise.

Use branching logic for any quiz longer than a handful of questions, it keeps the experience feeling personalized rather than like a long, generic survey.
