Funnel vs. Website: Which One to Use
Both live inside the same visual, drag-and-drop builder (no coding required), but they solve different problems:
Use a Funnel for a single offer with one clear action, lead capture, appointment booking, a webinar registration, a quote request, or a sales page leading to checkout. Funnels support A/B split testing and step-by-step conversion tracking, which websites do not.
Use a Website for a full site structure, a homepage, service pages, a blog, or a general business presence with multiple destinations rather than one linear path.
Rule of thumb: Route paid ad traffic to a funnel step, not a website page, since only funnels give per-step conversion tracking and native split testing.
Building a Funnel
Step 1: Create or Generate the Funnel
Start from a blank funnel and build manually, or
Use the AI Funnel Builder: describe the goal in plain language (e.g., "I want to generate leads for a cleaning service") and the system generates a complete funnel, layout, copy, and images, in a couple of minutes. The AI can also import the look and feel of an existing URL or screenshot if there's a specific design reference to match.
Step 2: Build Out the Steps
Each funnel is a sequence of pages ("steps") chained together, with a defined "next step" for each one.
Click Edit Step on any page to open the drag-and-drop builder.
Add headlines, images, forms, and video as needed.
Add new steps or reorder existing ones depending on the flow required.
Common funnel structures:
Lead capture funnel
Webinar registration funnel
Appointment booking funnel
Quote request funnel
Video sales letter (VSL) funnel
Step 3: Set Up Split Testing (Optional but Recommended)
Create a second variant of any given page.
Traffic automatically splits between the two versions.
Conversion performance is tracked per variant, so the better-performing page can be identified and scaled.
Step 4: Connect a Custom Domain
Add a CNAME record at the domain's DNS provider, pointing to the platform.
SSL is issued automatically, no separate certificate purchase needed.
Each funnel can use its own root domain or subdomain (e.g., offer.youragency.com).
Setup typically takes under 10 minutes to fully propagate.
Building a Website
Go to the Sites area, the central hub for websites, funnels, blogs, and online stores.
Choose a starting template or build from scratch.
Use the same drag-and-drop editor to build out pages: homepage, service pages, contact, etc.
Structure navigation and internal linking across pages, since websites are meant for browsing across multiple destinations rather than a single linear path.
Connect a custom domain the same way as a funnel.
Note: Websites do not include native A/B testing or per-page conversion tracking the way funnels do. If tracking conversion on a specific page matters, that page is better built as a funnel step instead.
Connecting to the CRM
Every form submission, whether on a funnel or a website, automatically creates or updates a contact record. From there:
Connect the form to a specific pipeline stage, so leads land directly in the sales pipeline instead of sitting in a raw contact list someone has to check manually.
Attach automations (tags, welcome sequences, internal notifications) to fire the moment a form is submitted.
This is the step most commonly skipped, a form that captures leads but isn't connected to a pipeline means the sales team is left manually searching the contact list instead of working a clean, prioritized list.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Using a website page instead of a funnel step for ad traffic. Loses split testing and per-step tracking.
Skipping the Thank You page. Without one, form completions can't be tracked as a conversion event, and confirmation automations have nothing to trigger from.
Publishing without checking mobile layout. Default templates often look fine on desktop but break at smaller screen widths; always preview on mobile before going live.
Not connecting the form to a pipeline. Covered above, but worth repeating, it's the single most common gap found during a build review.
Overloading a page with multiple calls to action. A single, clear CTA per page consistently converts better than several competing options.
Advanced: Funnels Connected to Membership Areas
Funnels can connect directly to a membership/content area, allowing content to be gated behind a purchase. This makes a full "buy → get instant access" flow possible without needing a separate external tool for content delivery.
